I got back from Yosemite last night - what a lovely weekend that was! Brighton and I drove up on Friday early, and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon wandering the valley floor. Saturday a.m., he & I spent shopping for hiking boots for him. Although it's a pain finding shoes for his feet (like mine!), in the end we were successful. So Saturday afternoon we decided to head up to Vernal Falls. A wonderful hike, but I haven't climbed so many stairs since Rome!
Saturday night Tyer, Annalisa & Bob arrived, & we enjoyed a couple hands of gin rummy together before bed. Sunday we got everyone packed up and I dropped them off at Tenaya Lake for their trip back to Tuolomne Meadows.
Here's the adventure part - Bob just called me - there's a fire in Yosemite, and everyone has been turned back. Oh well. It was still a lot of fun!
