Amazingly enough, it's almost the end of October. Whew. No sooner did I get back from my nice weekend away then I drove head-first into getting ready for my first opera without Jill (Jill Anderson, founding General Director of our opera company). While I was confident of my abilities, it is still always a little nerve-wracking to try something as big as this for the first time.
I can safely report that so far, all is well! It's been a very busy, very exciting couple of weeks. Lots of late evenings, but no major bumps in the road! Not that this is a ME thing! Putting on an opera is a BIG team endeavor- it's just my honor to be able to help oversee it.
On the home front, Dorothy has been having some difficulties coping with the 'residuals' from her brain injury - problems with short term memory, etc. I don't want to go into it, but we have hired tutors to get her through this period, and I'm so thankful for the assistance they've been giving her. I say this just so it can be understood that we aren't done with this yet. Although Dorothy is her cheerful self (Thank you, God!), she is still dealing with things.
You should see her adorable haircut, though. Sweet.
